Fractions of a Second
‘Oh look where you are going!’ Was what I said to myself after my foot landed in a hole while I was looking at a wall I had been asked to clear of ivy while working and then, ‘why!’
What is it about those split seconds which change the course you think you are on ?
It feels like they are those moments when you know there are other forces within oneself which are not always easy to get a grasp of. The fine tuning that really is needed to navigate life (or lumpy grass verges) can be off just a tad and bang, something kicks in to shake you back to your senses….. it seems…..
The thing is I had noticed it on my way past but I seem to have a very short term memory these days and on the way back with a bunch of ivy I was just focussed on the wall.
A very nice wall, one of those dry stone ones that carry the care and skill which someone had to make it, certainly a long process and now home to small creatures and ivy.
For now the rest of the ivy will have to wait! Those creatures and it will be happy.
Its a short one today as I am now even more distracted with a foot which is calling me to attention and to rest and to let go of how I thought this week would go.
Perhaps thats the fine tuning…….
Have a blessed, sure footed week.
